We're gathering 34 family members from 10 family groups for an unforgettable long weekend at Sunriver Resort — nestled among ponderosa pines in the shadow of the Cascades. Some families are arriving as early as Wednesday and staying through Monday or later — the core group activities and dinners are planned for Friday through Monday.

River Float & More

Tubes, kayaks, and SUPs via Sunriver Raft & Float. Doorstep pickup, ~2–3 hrs on the water. Or spend the afternoon at the pool.

Catered Pacific NW farm-to-table dinner at Sunriver Resort's Fireside Room. Stone fireplace, antler chandeliers, and hand-carved timber beams.

Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory — one of the largest public observatories in the US. Private star party available. Near New Moon = incredible dark skies! Dress warm (lows ~45°F).

Taco Truck at 5 Red Cedar Lane

Taco truck catering at Bob & Rosanne's rental house. Casual, festive, outdoor. Followed by stargazing at the SNCO Observatory around 10 PM.

Sunday

Lodge Kitchen — Hearth Room

Sunriver Resort's flagship farm-to-table restaurant. Pacific NW cuisine, locally sourced within 50 miles. Our private Hearth Room seats 55.

Monday

What to Pack

Central Oregon in late June: warm days, cool evenings, and the high desert sun at 4,170 ft elevation. Layers are key!

Essentials

Layers! Highs ~75°F, lows ~45°F. Evenings are cool.

Shops, restaurants, Sunriver Brewing Co, and bike rentals. Walking or biking distance from most rental homes.

🛍 Groceries

Small market in the Village. For a full grocery run, stop at Market of Choice, Newport Market, or Whole Foods in Bend on the way from Redmond Airport to Sunriver.

☕ Coffee

Starbucks in Sunriver Village. For better local coffee, try Backporch Coffee Roasters in Bend.

🚲 Biking

Sunriver Bike Barn — 300+ bikes, resort guest discount. Or bring your own. Everything is connected by paved paths.

🚐 Getting Around

Bike paths connect everything in Sunriver. Free 24-hour resort shuttle. Drive to Bend (~15 min) for breweries and restaurants.

Generally good in Sunriver and Bend (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile). Spotty in some mountain/trail areas.
